Pretty Paper Wedding: Sadaf and Pedro

I’ve been admiring Vancouver’s Kunio Photography ever since I saw his work on a couple of my favourite blogs. Needless to say, I was thrilled to get this submission! Sadaf and Pedro handmade almost all aspects of their Afghani-Guatemalan wedding. The results are sweet, pretty and perfect.  I asked the beautiful bride Sadaf about her inspiration:

I have been to many Afghani weddings with tons of bright colours and sparkles. That look is gorgeous – but for me, I always wanted something that would be different, simple and classic. Nothing is classier than black and white with a hint of colour.  I did lots of research on unique decor ideas and got amazing help from my friends.  My planner organized a girls night where we made DIY crafts for the decor that looked very nice (and not cheap, but affordable).  I also made my own wedding invitations and cake with the help of my bridesmaids Brittany, Roupak, Barbara and Sara.

Oh. My. Gosh.  Those lanterns and paper flowers are amazing.  Everything looks so pretty, vibrant and delicate!  I love the details on their rings.  I asked Sadaf about her favourite part of the day, and whether she had advice for couples still in the planning process:

The best part for me was everything! From planning/renting/decorating/getting the help of family and friends/research/shopping/the wedding day/the ending/being married… and more!  For engaged couples: Enjoy every part of planning your wedding for it only comes once in a lifetime.  Help each other out as a couple – from choosing colours to decorating, my husband was part of it all.  And for any DIY project, I would suggest doing a lot of research before jumping into things!

Check out their beautiful highlight reel by Brellow Productions and see their venue transform from the ceremony to the reception.

Thank you Jun for the submission via Two Bright Lights.  Congratulations Sadaf and Pedro on your new marriage!
