Why hello there! How have you been? I thought it was a good time to dust off the little old blog after completing a long and successful wedding season as an event coordinator and stylist. When it’s not wedding season, it’s planning season! And this? This is the perfect wedding to get your creative juices flowing. Beautiful bride Safa runs her own wedding blog so you know her nuptials will be full of gorgeousness. Enjoy!
Isn’t Safa’s ceremony, or shaadi, outfit looking lovely? Hear more about it from the bride:
For my shaadi outfit and wedding theme in general, I knew I wanted to keep it classic red, gold, and pearls. When I went to Pakistan to go shopping, I just wanted to see something and fall in love with it. I ended up ordering the first outfit I tried on, but not after doing a one-week round in the bazaars just to make sure there wasn’t something I liked better! I didn’t – I got my bridal from the designer Karma, and it was truly perfect. The lengha skirt was a gold jamawar, and the shirt was a true red with gold, pearls and diamonds. Karma’s tailoring is immaculate. My wedding dress weighed about 20 lbs. and every single ounce made me feel like a princess.
The wedding reception, or Pakistani walima, was perfectly planned with a vintage Great Gatsby theme. All about the bride’s reception outfit, from Safa herself:
In Pakistani tradition, the groom’s family gives the girl her walima outfit as a gift, and the bride’s family gives the groom his walima suit. The outfit I got for my walima was originally the outfit I wanted to wear for my shaadi until I showed the picture to my mother-in-law and she said, “That’s the type of outfit I wanted to get you for the walima!” My walima dress was made by designer Kamiar Rokni. The outfit was so incredibly regal, and stunning with a deep purple jamawar lengha skirt, cream shirt, and a red dupatta.
The reception decor by Lemon Truffle Designs is seriously stunning.
